In collaboration with Boyle Heights Beat, we’re hosting a forum for candidates in the March Los Angeles City Council District 14 primary election. The forum will take place on February 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Méndez High School in Boyle Heights.

Registration will run from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. alongside a community resource fair. The forum is expected to start at 11:15 a.m. and will end at 1 pm.

The event, led by the students of Boyle Heights Beat, is primarily set up to serve community members impacted by the election. If you’re interested in watching in person, you can register online. LA Public Press will be streaming the event on YouTube (check back here for the live stream).

All 14 candidates aiming for the seat have been invited. The incumbent, Kevin de León, has not committed to attending. Wendy Carrillo, Eduardo “Lalo” Vargas, Ysabel Jurado, Nadine Diaz, Teresa Hillery, and Genny Guerrero have confirmed they will be in attendance.

Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the school site, though we recommend taking public transportation as the Metro E-Line stops right across the street from the school.
